You think you do have any questions? Don't hesitate to ask them here. As it is the first 1v1 tournament we run, there are definitely some points that need clarity.
First of all, I would like to explain how the both stages of the tournament are meant to be played.
Group stage
All participating players will be divided into groups of 4 or 5 players. This means, they have to fight 3 to 4 matches in the Group stage. There will be a structured schedule who has to fight who, but you are allowed to arrange other match dates if they are at least in the Group stage. But remind you need to inform the officials before the round cycle ends, otherwise both players get a default loss.
So after fighting Round Robin, both groups probably look like this.

Playoffs
Now the seeding has to be determined. As you might think, the worst of group 1 is playing the best of group 2, the second worst of group 1 is playing the second best of group 2, and so on. In this case this means there is no opponent left for the best player of group 1 and he gets a bye in the quarter final.
The pairings would be following:

After those matches, the winners of the first two matches and the winners of the last two matches face eachother. And so on.
Nevertheless the game isn't over for the people who are losing in the quarter or semi final. They just don't have any chance to get into the final, but they still can gain some overall points and play for places 3 to 8. So in this special case, if always the player listed above their opponents are winning, they would be able to fight for the 5th place in two rounds:
In case of "Third2" winning this derby:
There is just one match left. That's the match of the losers of the Winner's semi final:
The Final Results would be: 1st Second1, 2nd Third1, 3rd First1, 4th Fourth1, 5th Third2, 6th Second2, 7th First2.
After that the player gain overall points: First1 (4), Second1 (9), Third1 (5), Fourth1 (2), First2 (2), Second2 (2), Third2 (2).
Well, this whole things becomes complicated if the groups are drawing eachother. In this case the spot has to be assigned by lots (and that's why we prefer 5 player instead of 3 player groups).
Other questions, or questions toward the match system? Go ahead.
