Rules
- To join, just post in this thread that you are in; it is never too late to sign up. Once you join, please check this thread at least every other day, and be prepared to be available for 1-2 matches a week.
- You advance up the ladder by defeating other players in challenges - if you beat another player, you swap places with him.
- Winning a challenge also gives 1 point.
- To make a challenge:
- Post the challenge in this thread.
- Send a private message to the recipient, and give an indication of what times (including timezone) you are available to play in the next 5 days.
- The recipient then has 2 days to accept the challenge.
- However, you may not challenge someone if:
- You are higher ranked.
- They are more than 2 ranks above you (not counting players who are in an extended challenge or temporarily inactive).
- You have been challenged yourself.
- They have challenged someone else.
- They got challenged by someone else.
- You have played against this person in the last three days and neither player has played another ladder game since.
- They have advanced past you by default in the last 3 days
- You have had a challenge against them voided in the last 3 days.
- The player is temporarily inactive.
- To accept a challenge:
- Post to the thread within 2 days.
- Please get in touch with the challenger by private message to sort out your play times.
- The match must then be played within 3 days from the challenge being accepted.
- After a challenge has been accepted, the period to play the challenge can be increased by an extra 3 days (to a total of 6 days). Either player can request this, by a post in this thread, and the extension comes into force immediately.
- Once a challenge has been extended, the players in the extended challenge become invisible for the purposes of making additional challenges. For example, if 2nd and 3rd are in a challenge, and 2nd asks for an extension, then 4th and 5th are free to challenge 1st.
- If the match is not played within the 6 day period, the game will be awarded to the player who did not request the extension, unless it is clear that they were not acting in good faith.
- If you do not believe you will be able to play in the set time, you can concede the match by posting in this thread. You will swap places with the challenger but will be free to challenge another player, if possible.
- Please note:
- It is the responsibility of the recipient to make themselves reasonably available for the challenge.
- It is the responsibility of the challenger to arrange a time for the match that is reasonable for both players (i.e. in or near the times proposed above).
- It is the responsibility of both players to be online at or around the arranged time.
- The challenger advances by default if the challenge is not accepted within 2 days.
- If the game has not been played within 3 (6 if extended) days, the admin will either declare the challenge void, or award the game to the challenger, based on the reasonable time requirements above.
- Matches have to get played on the official duel servers.
- Leaving a match (this includes entering spectator mode) that has started and not finished, is considered as defeat (unless the opponent is willing to replay the match).
- When the match is over, the winner needs to verify their victory by posting a screenshot (of the last turn) in this thread.
- A player can request to be made temporarily inactive up to a period of 15 days (e.g. on holiday) by posting in this thread and/or private message to the admin. The admin may also declare a player temporarily inactive if they miss more than one challenge in succession. During this period the following applies:
- The player is effectively invisible for the purposes of determining who you can challenge. For example if rank 7 is temporarily inactive, then rank 8 could challenge rank 6 and 5.
- If the players have not reactivated themselves (by posting in this thread) after 15 days they will be made inactive (removed from the ranking list, earned points are not lost).
- The titles and required points are as follows:
