Conquest Released, Upcoming Changes

After a long time of development combined with closed testing the transition to 3D is finally complete, and we are proud to present you Conquest Version 1.0. The release ended up being a bit more hectic for us than planned, due to me pushing a change from squares back to hexagons only three days ago - but it was worth it: the game now looks and feels even better.

I welcome everyone to try out our free demo, which is very low on restrictions and gives a solid dose of Conquest gameplay. Also, we would greatly appreciate any feedback either via our forums or email, and the same goes for any questions on your end. Finally, don't forget to buy the game if you like it or want to support our small endeavour!

That being said, development on Conquest will surely not stop now: Proxy Studios offers Lifetime Support for their title(s), which means the game will never be truly finished. Apart from hotfixes and unscheduled additions, here is a compiled list of upcoming changes that will get implemented over the next weeks or months:

  • Offline play. Though we initially planned it to be a pure multiplayer game with a training AI added later on, there is no good reason to prevent users from fighting the computer without internet connection.
  • Reconnects. Allow players to continue their game after a crash/disconnect.
  • More and better animations. While the gameplay mechanics itself are gold, the presentation is still a bit lacking. Operation, unit death and travel animations along with big-ass nuclear explosions should take care of that.
  • Additional climates. Fight on magma or industrial worlds!
  • Major performance improvements.

Our automated updater system allows game changes with very little effort, so you can expect new features, fixes and improvements on a regular basis. Stay tuned!

Game package downloads have been updated to include all data as of version 1.0.1. This makes it more adequate for other sites to make mirrors of the downloads.
