There are 3 unit types in Conquest. Going from left to right they are Trooper, Tank and Bomber. The trick to making these look good was to draw them in a really big size and scale them down. The Trooper is slowly becoming the symbol of Conquest, we have even used him for the game icon, and he definitely likes it there. Void calls Troopers the backbone of every army, and for a good reason.

Both the Trooper and Tank move one territory per turn, while the Bomber can move two. There is caveat though, a Bomber will crash if he starts the turn being more than two territories away from a city you own. This means they are not good off for ganking maneuvers, and being careless about it can result in the occasional bomber crash – which, while playing against an opponent with similar skill level, can already be quite match deciding.

The units, along with everything else in Conquest, are designed with simplicity and efficiency in mind, while also allowing enough depth. When in combat every unit has one basic value, that is, power. The unit powers, along with production costs (from cities) are 1:2:3 for Trooper:Tank:Bomber. Meaning that you will get 3-times the amount of Troopers as you will Bombers, but a Bomber's power would be equal to the power of 3 Troopers if there would be no...

There is an RPS (Rock/Paper/Scissors) system in effect between the three units. The system is as follows:
  • Trooper has 50% increased power while fighting a Bomber.
  • Trooper has 25% decreased power while fighting a Tank.
  • Tank has 50% increased power while fighting a Trooper.
  • Tank has 25% decreased power while fighting a Bomber.
  • Bomber has 50% increased power while fighting a Tank.
  • Bomber has 25% decreased power while fighting a Trooper.

There are only two more modifiers taken into account when calculating battles, and those will be explained in the next sneak peek: Territories!
