What license is Conquest distributed under?

For now Conquest is simply freeware (free for personal, non-commercial use). This will not change until the beta is over (which will last at least until the end of 2009). We want to really polish the game and give players a reason to buy version 1.0.0.

After the beta is over, we will most likely charge a small one-time fee (~$20).

The master server is unreachable / not available.

Make sure you have the latest version of Conquest and that you are not behind a firewall that is blocking Conquest's access to masterserver.conquest-game.com on port 5120. If that is not the case, then mice are most likely eating our wires. You are invited to post on our support forums or send us an e-mail.

How can I create / join a LAN game?

You cannot. Once Conquest goes gold and some time passes we might change it.
